Welcome Home

Vestavia Hills UMC is a church where families and individuals can find a number of places to learn and serve. We have many ministries geared toward families, the arts, and engaging the community. All of our ministries are designed to help make connections with others, and ultimately live out our life purpose, centered in Jesus Christ. So welcome home! We look forward to growing with you.

Hi I’m Bill Brunson, Senior Minister at Vestavia Methodist Church. Since 1952, we have engaged families in learning about God and God’s world, and I would like to invite you to join us, to find sense of purpose in life together. Our staff can help you plan your visit, by following the link below. And you can experience our worship services online so you can know what to expect. We hope to see you soon.

This Sunday we begin our Advent sermon series, Shake it Up! How do you make a snow globe work? You shake it up. That is why Jesus was born into the world: to shake it (and us) and return it to the way it was created to be. The theme of being shaken up by Jesus will be considered through the lives of three Biblical characters: Joseph, King Herod, and Mary. We have you'll join us for any of our worship services this Sunday!

Everyone is invited for a night of Christmas fun! Grab your dinner from the Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:00 pm. Then join us in Tyson Hall for a showing of Disney’s “A Christmas Carol.” Pajamas or comfy clothes are strongly encouraged…for ALL ages. There will be tables and chairs for eating but all are encouraged to bring blankets, pillows, lawn chairs or whatever else will make you comfy while watching the movie. The movie will begin about 5:15 to give time to get dinner. We will be serving hot chocolate during the movie and the event will end at 7:00 pm. Hope you'll join us!

**Please note that children need to be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact Emily Boles.**
