Midweek Programs

Prayer Breakfast

Middle School – 6:45 am    •    High School – 7:00 am

Prayer Breakfast is one of our most popular ministry opportunities we offer to students each week. Middle and High School students are all welcome for this time of breakfast, games, fellowship, and a devotion before going to school. Free Chick-fil-a biscuits and soda are provided in our Fellowship Hall!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, while we are able to continue gathering for this event on the third Wednesday of each month, we are unable to provide safe transportation to the schools. We encourage parents to join us for our Parent Prayer Breakfast hosted by VHUMC Family Ministries offered in Tyson Hall at the same time as Thrive Prayer Breakfast before providing their students a ride to school.

The first Wednesday of each month is our Drive-Thru Prayer Breakfast. Families are encouraged to bring their students by the Sanctuary Parlor Portico to pick up a free Chick-fil-a biscuit, a QR code for the new episode of our weekly podcast, along with discussion questions that can be used on the way to school.

Wednesday Night Thrive

6:00 – 7:00 pm

We invite students to join us in our laid-back Wednesday night options that are flexible to their schedules and welcoming to them whenever they are available.  From 5:30 – 6:00pm, we provide snacks in our Student Ministries Café before our small groups begin meeting from 6:00 – 7pm on our hall. For those students whose small groups do not meet on Wednesday nights, our Thrive staff offers a Bible Study open to all grades and students. This Bible study gathering provides students the opportunity to connect more deeply with the Bible, our Thrive Staff, and one another.
