Confirmation Registration OPEN

We are so excited to begin the Confirmation journey with our 6th grade students this year! Confirmation is a special time for students to learn about their faith, connect with new friends, and ask questions to their mentors in a small group setting. This year’s Confirmation program will look different than in year’s past as we try to best accommodate the busy schedules of our students, parents, and mentors. Once a month beginning on October 6, we will meet from 6-7pm in the Thrive Assembly Hall for a lesson from one of our clergy, activities, and discussion.

Price: $125

Thrive Tribes Registration OPEN

Families within our Thrive community are opening their homes to our students for a time of fellowship, food, and Bible Study. These gatherings will be twice a month, and homes will be mixed gender and grades. The time for these gatherings will be 5:00 – 6:00 pm each Sunday night the homes meet. We will have high school tribes and middle school tribes and some of our student leadership team members will be leading at each one! More information will be sent each week with a reminder and address of the home where your student will be attending. The next Thrive Tribes will be Sunday, Oct. 3. If your child is not registered, click the link below. There is no need to register each week.

Thrive Mask Policy

To help students reduce the number of close contact exposures, the Board of Trustees will continue require the use of face masks at all Thrive Student Ministries indoor events (including Sunday school, Thrive at Five, and Wednesday Prayer Breakfast / groups, retreats, etc.) – for both students and those adults assisting them effective September 8. Masking had previously been required for all student ministry bus transports, but it will now be extended more broadly.

Premie Gowns Needed

The definition of S.O.S. is an urgent appeal for help. We have an urgent appeal for help! We have heard of a need in Georgia for sleep gowns, socks, sleep sacks and sound machines for underprivileged newborns that are born premature and are born with withdrawls. These children do not have any clothing whatsoever, so let’s shower them in clothing and show Christ’s love the best we can from VHUMC. Join us for a baby shower for our southern premie babies in Georgia that need a little extra TLC during their first few days on this Earth. SOS-“Shower Our Sweeties”. All items can be dropped at the missions office near the church library.

Suggested sizes are premie or 0-3 months. Items needed are premie size socks, sleep gowns, day gowns, and sound machines. Thank you VHUMC for answering this S.O.S. call to be the hands and feet of Christ for those that are less fortunate.
